As a writer, I have enrolled all my books in the Kindle Unlimited program. Which means you can read them all for no extra fee if you have a subscription. And for full transparency, I’ll tell you that I get paid $0.00458 per page read. That might seem like not much, but when dozens of you read all my books, it makes a big difference. And if you’re a voracious reader like me, for $11.99 a month, you can read as many books as you want. Oh, sweet, sweet deal.
It’s in the Kindle Unlimited section that you’ll find the rare M/M romance pearls. The little books that hide in the shadows of the bigger titles, but deserve as much love and devotion. You’ll give small authors a chance to show you their work.
Now, I’ll get into details as why you should get a Kindle Unlimited subscription:
- 30 days free trial if you want to try it out.
- You can rent up to 20 books at a time, with no limit in time.
- Thousands of M/M Romance titles (and other genres) from indie authors.
- Explore genres that would have otherwise overlooked.
- Access to other formats like comics, magazines, audiobooks…
- Try out books without worrying about disliking them (and having wasted money on a title you did not finish). I used to have a special “shelf” on my Kindle for books I DNF and didn’t enjoy.
- Save a LOT of money. If you read more than three books (indie gay romance books for example) a month like me, you’re saving money.
- 3 months free trials if you buy a new Kindle device with the Kindle Unlimited option.
- You get access to all of my books (ok that point might be influenced).
So, my take is: you should really give it a try. Especially with the free trial. And if, after a month, you realize that you’ve seen enough, you can just unsubscribe as easily!
